Reminder - if you have not already done so, please contact your library asap to obtain an Athens logon. The new SALUS site is coming soon, and will use Athens to give you access to your information resources. You will not need a separate SALUS logon any more.
Can't remember your password? - 5-May-2010
The password reminder function isn't working - sorry. If you forget your SALUS password, please contact your library for your password to be re-set.
Athens Authentication - 22-Apr-2010
In 2010 the Library is launching a new logon authentication system for our online resources called Athens. Many of you will have already heard of, or used Athens, especially if you have worked in the UK, Sydney or New Zealand. Athens is a single signon system for nearly all information resources for which we have we have purchased access licences. It is used worldwide and has a reputation for security and reliability. All of the major SA hospital libraries will be implementing Athens in 2010.
If you work for the RAH, SA Pathology, the Dept of Health Central Office, Modbury Hospital, rural hospitals and health services as part of Country Health SA, SA Ambulance Service, Breastscreen SA or SA Dental Service, you will notice a link to the Athens Registration form on the SALUS website.
Please register for your Athens logon now.

If you work for another hospital, please check with your library for the registration procedure.

Change to email addresses - 16-Mar-2009
Many email addresses are being changed to end with .health.sa.gov.au. You can change your own email address on the SALUS website. How? First, log on to Salus. Then, find your name at the top right of the screen in the darker orange bar. (You may have to scroll across to see it). Click on your name, and in the form page, change your email address to your new one. Finally, click on "Update" underneath the form to make the new address stick. That's it. Problems? Fill in the feedback form on this page.
SALUS and web browsers. - 19-Aug-2008
The SALUS site has been designed to work best with the Dept of Health standard web browser, Internet Explorer. It will work with Firefox, but has NOT been tested against other web browsers.
There have been some problems reported by Firefox users relating to accessing the full-text of journal articles via the A-Z list from the SALUS site. These problems relate not only to compatibilitiy issues with the SALUS site, but also to problems between Firefox and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
For fuller information, please see the Firefox Help page: Opening PDF files within Firefox

A-Z journals list time-out - 7-May-2008
If you use your library’s A-Z list to access online journals, be aware that the A-Z list times out after about 15 minutes. This means that if you start reading journals and forget the time, you’d be prompted for a logon by the A-Z page when you try to go back to it. What to do? Just close the browser window and click on the link to your A-Z journals page from the SALUS screen to start a new session.
Frequently asked questions - 10-Apr-2008
eg. Why can't I get into the AtoZ journals list? Why do I get a "you are not authorised to access this page" error message?   read more...
