Welcome to the SA Pharmacy Medicines Information Service

9am to 5pm, Monday – Friday (excluding public holidays)

The primary role of the Medicines Information (MI) service is to provide patient focused clinical advice to optimise health outcomes. The MI service contributes to the safe and effective use of medicines through the provision of timely, accurate, up-to-date and evidence-based information. The service also contributes to the sustainability of safe medicine use through proactive provision of education, training and clinical research.

Adult Service

Provides advice and information regarding medications to health professionals and patients of SA Health.

Obstetric and Paediatric Service

Provides advice on the safety of medicines during pregnancy, breastfeeding and for children. Available to SA Health staff, the general public and community health professionals.

* You can send an email for non-urgent enquiries but it may take up to 7 days to answer. Telephone enquiries are preferred as we may need to get more details from you to give the best answer.

UpToDate Anywhere is available for SA Health Staff. Click on UpToDate and follow the login/registration link. Registration must be done from an SA Health computer, after which you can access UpToDate anywhere and on any mobile device. Please see the QuickStart tab for instructions.
